Gnoll 2e

Gnoll from 2nd Edition Monstrous Manual

Having rested and recovered, the party decide that the next step in their guerrilla war against the Gnolls would be to make a fake camp to lure Gnolls into an ambush.

They spend time setting up the camp, and to their delight their plan succeeds. They spring their trap on the unsuspecting Gnollsm and slaughter most of them, one of which turns out to be Sankoh, second to Bokassa.

Emboldened by their victory, they decide to finish the war, and take the fight to Bokassa's lair. Grimes scouts the cave and impressively assassinates the sentry. Sadly no one witnesses the impressive display.

Te quickly looks around the entrance, before retreating back to the camp, and sees that the lair appears to be an ancient man-made tomb.

When Jaromir hears Grimes' report, he begins a strange mystical ritual, and hears the voices of the dead from the tomb. Gnash also reveals the layout of the lair, and explains that it also contains the tomb of the first Gnoll Lord.

The party takes a day to prepare, then head to the lair once more. Grimes masterfully assassinates the sentry, and the party stealthily enters the cave. After a proceeding with caution, they are approached by a Gnoll. After failing to kill it, the Gnoll invites them to parlay with Bokassas. The party decides to do so, and follow the Gnoll deeper into the foreboding darkness.
