Synopsis[]

In Trog Canyon, the party meet with the wizard Henrietta again. She gives the party some advice on where to see answers to the water elemental problem. The next day the party go back to the Water Sprit to try to communicate with them. With Pearl's new spell, the party are able to understand the water elemental and explore more of the underground water passageways.

After Kyra tells the town about it, a young townsfolk sells the information to the Draconian. Kyra devices some counter measures, and overnight makes sure 3 snooping draconians are unable to get into the town. The next day before she can meet with the draconian leader, there is an earthquake and an earth elemental emerges. The elemental chases Pearl and the rest of the party pursue. Pearl gets away and Kyra gets captured by the elemental.

Reckless Casting is now a short rest power instead of being Nahal's Reckless Dweomer spell that uses a spell slot. 9th September, Year 20 - Meeting with Henrietta[]

In Trog Canyon, the party meet up with leave a meeting the wizard Henrietta as she returns to town. They all head into the inn's common room for a chat.

Henrietta speaks with the party about possible solutions to their water elemental problem. She mentions Ipsum's wizard Arcmage Maven or the silver dragon Silvanothernis who could have knowledge on how to solve the problem peacefully, or go to the Draconian could solve it violently. Lastly Henrietta suggests speaking with the sea elves, who would have great knowledge into water elementals. Tristelle says although her father was a sea elf, she herself has never met him nor has an idea how to contact him. Henrietta would suggest going to the former capital city of Ferimonium for answers, but that city has been destroyed in the war.

Pearl asks Henrietta about the Warlord Sklaeros who was responsible for the fall of Northridge (learned Ep 08. Henrietta says that Sklaeros isn't a "warlord" but more a "Field Marshall" from the Northern Ferrin Empire, and says that she has no idea where he would be these days, but assumed he was dead like many of the significant people back during the war.

Kyra asks Henrietta about her Golem She had recently gone to Northridge for. Henrietta found the golem but was unable to capture it, but left it intact. Henrietta also mentions seeing a man in a cart go into the town at night when the Banshee is active (likely Stuka from Ep 13). Henrietta didn't see what happened to the man in the cart, but assumed nothing good since he went into the town at night.

Henrietta then rests in her inn-room. Tristelle shows off her new bongos to her friends.

14th September - The Water Elemental[]

Pearl says she can understand the water elemental now she can cast Comprehend Languages V S M 1  Comprehend Languages Range  Self Concentration  No Casting Time  1 action Duration  1 hour Save   Damage   Target  Self Materials  A pinch of soot and salt For the Duration, you understand the literal meaning of any spoken language that you hear. School  Divination Classes  Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard . The party decide to go try to speak with them. However Pearl's spell just allows her to understand the elemental, not speak their language in turn.

They return to the Glory Hole where the Water Sprit resides in the mine. Tristelle goes down first to attach the base of the rope ladder for the rest of the party, however she slips into the water. The Water Sprit catches Tristelle and helps her keep her balance and stand back on the shore down the bottom. Once the ladder is attached the rest of the party go down the ladder.

School  Divination Classes  Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard and the party experiment playing songs and casting spells in hopes of communicating with the water elemental. Eventually Pearl's reaction to the water elementals words makes the elemental realise she understands them.

The water elemental says it is new to this place and finds it amazing (likely was in the elemental plane of water, as suggested by Henrietta previously). The elemental tells Pearl that the party are the first people they have met since coming to this world, and says it is nice for the party to come visit. The elemental realises there is water inside of Pearl and panics and decides they will workout a way to free "Pearl" from her prison. The elemental asks what was Pearl's original form. Tristelle creates an illusion of a smaller younger Pearl. This confuses the water elemental who is not used to organic beings.

The water elemental asks if it can do anything for the party. Tristelle goes up and gets a hug. Kyra points deeper in the save, and the elemental seems to indicate it doesn't mind if the party goes that way. Kyra takes off her armor and the Kyra go deeper into the cave down the narrow passageway with Tristelle following afterwards. They discover a 3-way fork in the passageway with a current going down the middle fork.

The centre passageway's current gets faster and faster and the passageway eventually becomes fully submerged. The party back out of the passageway and return to Pearl to report in.

Kyra and Tristelle then return to the fork in the underground waterways and head down the left fork passageway. The party go against the current as they traverse this passageway. The passageway leads to a vast lake.

The party return to the fork and check the right passageway. The right passageway becomes more shallow and protruding are large quartz crystals that are 2 1/2 feet across, forming a shallow grotto with a shoreline. In the grotto is many crystals. The water elementals rises out of the water and gestures around, showing off the chamber.

Tristelle gets out of the water and ritual casts Detect Magic V S 1  Detect Magic Range  Self Concentration  Yes Casting Time  1 action Duration  Up to 10 minutes Save   Damage   Target  Self For the Duration, you sense the presence of magic within 30 feet of you. If you sense magic in this way, you can use your action to see a faint aura around any visible creature or object in the area that bears magic, and you learn its school of magic, if any.The spell can penetrate most barriers, but is blocked by 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of Common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt. School  Divination Classes  Bard, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Wizard and just sees the usual moderate ambient magical aura everywhere and nothing else.

The party then return to Pearl at the entrance to the Glory Hole.

14th September (cont'd) - The Informer[]

The party head to Mayor Barnaby on what they discovered today. He is interested in mining out the minerals and crystals from the Glory Hole still, and not interested in the adventure the party just undertook.

Kyra calls a town meeting and explains to the town about the water elemental. During the town meeting Tristelle sees one of her admirers, Warrant, (a young male) acting nervous and uncomfortable, keeping to the edge of the crowd. This makes Tristelle suspicious. When Warrant leaves the meeting, he does so in a hurry. Tristelle gets Pearl and the 2 follow and see that Warrant leaves west out of Trog Canyon.

As the pair get deeper in the canyon, only Pearl can keep sneaking after Warrant with her natural wall climbing abilities. Pearl follows sneakily and finds that he goes all the way to the Draconian watchtower. Warrant calls out and a draconian comes down and escorts him up a path beyond the tower. Pearl waits. Half an hour later Warrant comes down with the draconian from the path. Pearl sneaks behind him as they head back to Trog Canyon.

Back at Trog Canyon, Warrant sees Tristelle at the edge of town and starts to speak with her when Pearl comes up from behind Warrant and surprises him. He is pressured by the party to reveal the 2 foreign gold coins he was paid for selling information to the draconians about the Water Elemental and the Glory Hole. Tristelle and Pearl take Warrant to Kyra to tell her everything.

Warrant appears to be naïve and says he sold the information to the draconians because they were "friends" of the town and he was short on money. Kyra explains exactly what draconians are, how they are created, and what they are after. Most of all Kyra says that they may invade Trog Canyon now to get he Water Elemental. He apologises and seems afraid. He says he spoke to a bronze spellcaster Draconian named Tsar. Tsar appears to live in a cave near the watch tower, and they might command 30 draconians, but Warrant is unsure on the exact number.

Kyra says the plan now is to directly talk with the draconians tomorrow to see what the situation is. Kyra posts one of her deputies to watch the entrance to the mine, and another watching the western entrance. If the draconians are spotted, they are to raise the alarm.

14th September (cont'd) - Night-time Draconian Visitors[]

That night 3 draconians come into town, but are unable to get into the town itself from the canyon floor because of the raised stairs. Kyra is awoken by Deputy Biggs. Kyra, who was sleeping in her armor, walks to the walkway above the draconians and asks them their intentions. One of the draconians speaks up, saying they are just exploring, and seem intrigued by the drawbridges and the technology behind them. The Draconian points out a security flaw, with the carpenter's wood-supply elevator being now. The draconian demonstrates being able to climb the rope up to where Kyra is. Kyra asks the draconians to come back during the day time if they wish to talk more. Kyra also says she was planning on coming to visit them tomorrow to report in some recent discoveries.

The draconians leave town.

15th September - Earthquake[]

In the morning there is an earthquake, with is unusual for this area. The earthquake lasts 2 whole minutes. One of the houses in town owned by a local named Rhonda has collapsed. The town get to work removing the rubble to see if there are any survivors. At Tristelle's suggestion, Greg the Golem is deployed to help remove the rubble. However Rhonda and her family's remains are found, crushed to death.

Reconstruction and repair efforts begin in town. The party's canoe is put on hold as the carpenter is busy with the repairs.

After making sure the rest of the town is safe, the possie prepare head out to meet with the draconians as promised. Before the party can leave, a Earth Elemental emerges from the walls of Rhona's house. The elemental jumps to a high vantage point in town, destroying boardwalks as it moved thought them. School  Divination Classes  Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard and the elemental rushes over to her, destroying buildings in the way, the created an earthen fist out of the ground under her. Pearl understands the earth elemental is communicating by the vibrations it is creating in the ground as she is captured by the earth.

Tristelle gives Kyra a boost to help her get up near where Pearl and the earth elemental are. Pearl called upon Tides of Chaos and then manages to slip free of the painful grasp. When Pearl isn't touching the ground near the earth elemental, she can no longer hear their words though the vibrations. The elemental gives chase after Pearl. Wedge boots Tristelle up so she can also follow.

Pearl leads the earth elemental away from the buildings to prevent more damage to the town. Kyra & Tristelle chases after. As the elemental starts to squeeze her instead, Kyra hits the stone hand with the flat of her sword, which surprises the elemental, then she is dropped.

The Illusion also ends if you dismiss it as an action or cast this spell again.If you create a sound, its volume can range from a Whisper to a scream.
